Par Marie-Christine Natta (*) Une vocation précoce Ermin Yang est un artiste que les arts, et plus particulièrement la peinture, attirent depuis l’enfance. Sa vocation innée se manifeste par  l’attrait  pour  les  formes,  toutes  les  formes,  les  plus  simples comme les plus élaborées. A Quyang, sa ville natale, ce sont les reliefs contrastés des plaines et des montagnes. Ce sont aussi les témoignages laissés par l’artiste du VIIIe siècle Wu Daozi, et ce sont surtout les pierres aux formes étranges collectionnées par la plupart des habitants, et dont certaines,  dit-on,  seraient  exposées  au  musée  du  palais  impérial. C’est en  raison de ces  pierres  que  l’association  des sculpteurs de pierre a choisi la petite ville de Quyang et non Pékin, pour y établir ses réunions. Les sociétés de copie de sculptures antiques, elles, ont élu Quyang pour ses artisans, dont le savoir-faire est reconnu, et les prix moins élevés qu’ailleurs. Enfin, ce qui fait la notoriété de Quyang, c’est un temple où l’empereur avait coutume de se rendre afin de se livrer à des rituels propitiatoires destinés à favoriser  le déroulement  harmonieux  de l’année à venir. La présence impériale a un effet direct très concret puisqu’elle…
